This poster is an offset lithograph designed in 1983 for a 1984 exhibition of Yokoo's works in Paris, France at the Museum of Advertising History. Born in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Yokoo
"Tadanori Yokoo (June 27, 1936 - ) is an artist and graphic designer born in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. He claims he experienced various paranormal phenomena in early childhood, which sparked an interest in the afterlife. It led him to travel to India where he explored mysticism and psychedelia, influences which are apparent in much of his work. His style is complex and layered, making references to 1960s billboards and postcards, to traditional Japanese images of samurai and the Rising Sun flag of the 1800s. Because his work is so intensely autobiographical and entirely original, it is easily recognizable and has contributed to him gaining international recognition."
